Great achievement Carl. I gotta tell youse blokes...I knew Carl way back when he was sh!ttin' bricks about this whole cut-throat shavin' stuff...Now would ya look at 'im...15, no! Twelve minutes flat with cold steel 'pon 'is throat...

All jokes aside now. I got my shaves down to approx. ten then went back to 20 minutes. I like to take my time, but I also like to know I can get the job done quicker if necessary.

    Ha! You crack me up!
But yeah, two point five weeks ago I was scared!
20 minutes sounds reasonable, esp now we're over the winter solstice (I hate getting up early when it's cold and dark); a balance between efficiency and relaxation is needed.

I was in the military so I an shave as fast with a straight as most can with a DE..But I always try to slow it down to enjoy it...Funny, when I shave time flys...When I work, time stands still...I wish I could reverse it...Maybe I could get paid to shave?

As a Recruit, shaving fast in the Army was a concerning and bloody experience. As a Recruit Instructor shaving fast in the Army was hilarious. I'll always remember that time I had that Recruit standing to attention in the hallway in his underwear while I ranted and raved and spat words at him and drew circles on his face with a marker pen so he could see EXACTLY where he'd missed bits...I'd sent him back three times and his face was a mess of flat-topped bloody pimples...

You weren't a Coast Guard Company Commander also were you? I would have hated to have to shave with a straight blade in basic.

If I broke the 15 minute barrier I'd probably also break the skin barrier.

You go with your baaad self.. heheheh I just can't get myself to go faster.. I think even it I could wizz through it I just like taking my time.. Shaving has been meditative to me and especially wehn my son is in the room with me and he wants his share of the lather.. I just like to take the moment to slow down.. Good achievement though.. not downing it at all.. Congrats..

No, Australian Army, '85 to '95, Recruit Instructor at 1RTB Recruit Training Battalion from '92 - '94. Probably fortunate they didn't make soldiers shave back then (when all they had were straight razors) :-)
