I'm not exactly a beginner, but I figured this was a good place to start anyway!
After a year and some change out of the straight game, I am back in. Since I sold all my old stuff, I had to go on a bit of a shopping spree...
Got Ken Rups Starter Set as well as a Paladin Strop and a NOS 4/8 Filarmonica Doble Temple.
The Starter Set came today so I will be enjoying my first straight shave of 2011 tomorrow morning :y

Ya, why'd ya sell your old stuff?? Either way, getting new stuff is the fun of it!!!
Get a couple of razors IMO, get them honed by a pro, practice your stropping technique, read, share and ask for advice anytime you need it. There are a ton of folks here more than happy to help you get the best out of the experience this time around.
You probably know all this, but just in case I figured I'd state the obvious!!
