Aha! Finally...
Today I had a really close shave cheeks and neck, upper lip and lower middle lip pretty close, and when I splashed on the aftershave I felt... nothing!
My point, fellow beginners - and I started back in February - is that if you stick at it, and follow the great advice you find on these forums, you WILL get there, and it will be great when you do.

Ahhh... I know exactly how you feel.
The best part is that it just gets better and better.
Reading your post reminds me of the first time I used the aluminum block and felt almost zero burn and had a silky smooth shave that was like none that I ever had.
Congrats

It may not happen overnight - but it will happen.
Congratulations - I know how you feel - and it's great

Great job man!!!
I know how you feel. Every once in a while I get a really close shave!!! Some days are just better than others. And it depends on which razor I happen to use that day. I have noticed I can shave better with some than others. I have 13 in the rotation now, and I've managed a shave on all but 1 of them so far. It's not scheduled for another 4 days, hehehe. I keep notes on which ones I do well with and which ones burn me up really bad. I hope eventually I will be able to shave equally well with all of them!
Keep it up man, great job!!

Bay rum burns even if you don't shave. :P

Very nice mile stone you hit there. You need some of those once in a while to keep yourself feeling like you are having progress. Congrats!

I'm starting to miss the burn. Now all I get is a slight tingle 90% of the time. But congrats man.
