I am going to be purchasing a Hart 6/8 1/4 Ground Round Point with black scales. I can shave at 6 a.m., and by ten a.m., I have around a 1/16" of stubble. After I read 'The Art of Straight Razor Shaving', a 40 chapter book. I leaned towards a heavy blade due to two reasons. I like heavy knives, and from everything I have read, it suggests a heavy blade with my type of beard.

Pardon me if you've already come across this in your reading here or elsewhere, but please be aware that honing a razor is not the same as sharpening a knife. I've read a number of posts here from gents who used the same techniques and standards on their razors as they did on their knives, and wound up extremely frustrated. One thing in particular that gets mentioned a lot by those who hone razors is avoiding the creation of a burr or wire-edge. Good luck!Quote:

i would have to agree with your choice i have a fast growing very full beard a hart razor would be a great choice also a spike razor in our classifieds is a near wedge and i have one of those spikes and they are great shaver's if your still on a budgetQuote:
