Well, it definately sounds like it isn't a shave ready razor. Which isn't surprising - new razors generally aren't.

As X so properly asked, what are you honing it with? Or are you honing it at all? I would suggest, as we often do, that you hone it by mailing it out to someone who's an expert and get them to do it for you.

There are a lot of other variables, too. Have you been stropping? And how, and with what? How thick is your hair, what's your prep like, etc., etc. Take a look at some of the help files and older posts, and they'll help you narrow down what your issue might be. Then we can offer more than just very general help.

i dont have a hone, but i took the razor to a local barber shop today and the gentlemen there honed it on one of the smaller, old style barber hones for free. I tried to shave with it and it is close to where it needs to be, but pulls to the point of hanging midway thru the shave and i tried to restrop it at that point. It will not shave the left side of my face, so im just going to send it to lynn and let him work on it.

so im just going to send it to lynn and let him work on it.
    Good idea,

I have been honing for a couple of months now and I can't get a realy dull razor to shave readyness as yet. I send mine to Joe who does a wicked job and I seen to be able to keep them sharp afterwards with my inadequate skills.

Welcome and ask as many questions as you want and look at previous posts and the help files.

That's really the best course of action. It sounds like, based on what you've just posted, that your razor never got to full shave readiness. Lynn is the gold standard of sharpness, so try it again when you get your razor back from him.

Good luck! Sounds like you're on the right track.
