The short answer is yes, Henckels are, when in good condition, superb shavers.
I have a 401 myself, and find it to be great!
As to the age of it, I'm sure someone will chime in with some info on that as well:)
Yep, i have one in the rotation.
sweet, it will probably be the one i practice honing on where its only 20 bucks. if its in mint condition ill leave it alone though probably lol
They are a light razor with a lot of feed back. They take a edge and keep it. The only bad in them is they are very light. Good for a regular to light beard. If you are a wookie i wouldn't recommend it. They do look pretty cleaned up also.
Hey there,
J. A. Henckels made razors in around 1898 :) You can check out razor makers here http://www.archivingindustry.com/cut...lermarks-1.pdf

Carl.
i'm sure it will be fine then. i dont plan on shaving any wookies with it, but ya never know lol. hopefully the razor is about that old, would be kind of cool shaving with something that was made before my grandparents were even born lol
Oh your razor is a little earlier than that ... not too earlier though but I know what you mean. Shaving with something your grandparents may have called antique is kind of cool.
yea i think i will definitely buy it. for 20 bucks, why not... unless it looks like complete garbage. i guess even if it is garbage, then at least i can use it to practice honing. 20 bucks for a learning experience doesn't sound too bad
