New Brush
So I have been switched to a straight for around 3 months now.
Over the weekend I switched to a new Badger with horn handle.
Many people here have said to get a badger over a boar, and I can now see why. This thing builds lather like nobody's business.
I was able to build lather with my boar, and was getting fairly proficient at it. Switched to the badger and I question why I bothered using the boar at all.
simply amazing.

Sadly sitting in an airport so can't make any lather. Best I can do is provide you with a picture of the new brush.

Through shaving history since brushes were used Badger was always considered the premium brush material with Horse the choice for the masses. After the Anthrax scares they switches to Boar in place of Horse. I guess there is a reason why Badger was always considered premium eh?

I now understand why :-) I never imagined a brush could make THAT big of a difference. I always figured "hair is hair it can't make that huge of a difference. Boy could I have been more wrong? heh.

I thought the same way. First I had a VDH boar, soft and made decent lather, then I received a AOS Badger for my birthday last year and it was a huge improvement, softer and easier yet to lather... Until last week, my brother gave me a beautiful silvertip Thater...WOW...makes the other two feel like wire scrub brushes, just can't believe how much difference there is. Lather explodes out of the brush and tip are like butterfly kisses...Now I have the BAD bad...lol

Amazing! I also got my first badger just today and am trying it right now actually.. Lather is so much better and easier to whip up, also my skin loves it! :D

There it is after I used it! It's a startermodel from Böker, but it's silvertip and quite dense..

My first brush was a silver tip. Got it because I was getting into DE shaving and read that its considered the best. My brother got me a boar brush for Christmas, then I realized the quality of the silver tip. It does have a luxurious feel but I use the boar to help scrub my beard if I haven't shaved for a few days. It helps with thick hair like mine. I have a friend who likes the boar because it helps exfoliate.
