Prorazo Pre-Shave
Wondering if anyone has opinions on the Prorazo Pre-Shave cream? I have been using it off and on, it seems to stick to my blade and require more water to scrape off the cream between strokes but it also seems to help a little with glide (not sure if im just imagining this or not lol). Also it feels really good when I put it on before my shaving cream.
Anyone have opinions on their experiences with it and it's effect on shaving?

I use the sensitive skin/green tea version and really like it. I usually rub it in completely on wet skin a few minutes before lathering so I haven't experienced any of the negative traits you describe. Really improved the comfort of my shaves.

Interesting I usually just put some on and then put on the lather right away, try to get it on quick while my face is still wet. I also use the green tea version. I'll try rubbing it ito my face better and see what happens. I didn't mean to say it was a big deal either just that it stuck to my blade a little more but I think I might be using too much and not rubbing it in enough?

Well that was it.... I tried using it yesterday in smaller amounts and really working it into the skin and I had the best shave yet. Thx

I use Proraso preshave before every shave and feel it makes a difference. Feels good on my skin, too. It looks like you've already discovered the secret: just use a little dab and apply to wet skin. If your razor is scraping off layers of Proraso preshave you've used way too much.

Proraso is my go to product. The pre/post shave cream is something I love. To be honest, It would upset me to shave without it. seems like you figured out the trick to make sure to rub it all in and make sure its totally absorbed and the problem will never come back. Enjoy :)

I use Proraso pre-shave often, I've had some of my best shaves while using it. I love the scent most of all, sometime I'll use it in between shaves. Before Christmas my local drugstore had it on clearance for $2 so I bought all ten, gave a few away and still have 5 backups.

Love this stuff.love the menthol in it

Like everybody who has posted here so far, I have used Proraso pre-post shave cream to soften my tough beard. It used to be the only pre-shave I would even consider using. It's excellent.
Recently, however, I have experimented and found that Vitos is quite similar in its menthol kick and is just as good at softening my beard. Its a few bucks less than Proraso too.
I've also used Prep and 3P pre-post shaves, but they are somewhat pricier imho.

I love the tingle it gives. A shave just doesn't feel right without it now.

I find that a light application put on after wetting my beard, and before I make lather tends to give me better shaves.

Try noxzema. A quarter of the price and the same feeling. Noxzema is mentholated..
-
i've given up on all proraso except for the green tea preshave...the menthol just overpowers any soap/cream afterwards and i have too many soaps and creams that i love the scent of more than menthol.
to the OP, a good tip is use it like lotion. rub it into your beard, if you can see any white on your face after rubbing it in for awhile, you used too much.

My routine is usually mineral oil and/or glycerine/water about 5 minutes before I shower. I haven't used a dedicated preshave treatment yet. Sounds like it is time to add another variable.
-
I also add a daub in with the lather for a smoother multi pass shave. Could also be just a placebo effect ;)

I love the pre shave from Proraso but also have to mention avoid using too much!!! Accidentally did that this weekend and it goes from slick to epoxy on your blade in short order. Oh well lesson learned!
