nick on stroop
Hey all
I purchased a cheaper stroop for my first go. I have got some nicks and small cuts as a result of my poor timing/eye hand coordination...
will these nicks be messing up my razor? am I dulling it with each pass? should I buy a new one now?
thanks

Small nicks and cuts should not impair a razor. Usually if you can feel them when you strop that's the danger sign. Some sandpaper or a pumice stone should enable you to smooth them out.

yea as bad as it sux I can can feel them on a pass over

If you can feel them then unfortunately you made need a replacement. Check strop restoration in that section. I was going to say try a pumice stone to sand them out.

+bigspender, take sandpaper by small nicks, Are there big holes in your strop then you need to replace that thing.
Its beter to learn good stropping on this strop dan on a new one

I have two strops I use regularly. Each one has nicks, and some of those can be felt during stropping.
So far, I've been getting good shaves.
Sandpaper will smooth out the high spots if you're worried about them.
