ok, just done my first shave. :)
1 nic, 1 very minor cut because I'm not yet very used to maneuvre scales :D
The shave wasn't too good, no doubt due to my sucky technique, but ok. I did expect my jaw and chin to be the problem area, already was that with the M3, the straight does puzzle me there though. :|
I didn't expect to have to pull down so hard on the razor and hear it on the hairs as much though, I'd expected that to be an 'M3 thing'. I tried to keep it at 30° the whole time but my technique no doubts *** donkey ***. ;)
but at least I'm not gutted :roflmao
Good choice! Enjoy the learning process, you'll probably be amazed at how quickly your shaves improve over the next week or two.
Nice razor! You're on the road now, keep going! You'll get there. Some razors are "noisier" than others. Did you get it shave ready? Have you got a strop? Let us know when yuo encounter a problem and we'll let you know what to do.
yes I have a strop and a pasted paddle strop :)
oh well, somehow making lather didn't go well today as well, normally don't have a problem with that but today it just didn't seem to want to come up (tabac soap) :)
you're doing great. my first straight shave I had 7 or so nicks / cuts.
Also nice stuff - I hear the Revisors are great, and Tabac is outstanding. Keep at it. Yes, first several shaves might not be too smooth but as long as you can avoid big cuts and irritation / burn it's worth it. and the quality does improve!

Full hollow razors can be very noisy; they resonate like a bell or a drum every time a hair gets cut. When I shave with my extra-hollow Wacker it's like rain on a tin roof :-)
I'm already very glad that I managed to shave my mole without it bleeding ( I don't even manage that with an M3 all the time and I do have like 4 years experience with an M3, maybe more, when was it released? :) ) I feared I was going to cut it off ;)
When I was young I remember asking my father what he did when he would grow a mole on his face. He said: one day you have to be very brave. Meaning you'll cut it off in one stroke.
Or go to a doctor who'll burn it off for $20 lol.
Still have to hit my mole with the electric. I have GOT to get rid of it but not by straight.:nono:

hehe it seems I also had a second little bump under my left chin right near the jaw-line, which got cut a bit: blood galore :D
