Chromium Oxide Product Question

I am on SRD and ordering a few things. I noticed they have a Chromium oxide green paste (.5) and Chromium oxide green Spray (.5 on 4oz bottle). Anyone compared the two against each other? Which one is the better of the two?

I think they are the same. The spray is mixed from a powder where as the paste is probably wax based, but I am not sure. I think the spray would probably allow you to put a thinner layer on since that is all you need. Maybe someone else will post some info.

Since it's the first time I will ever be adding it to a strop, I figure the the spray is more newbie proff?!?

If you are using felt or other similar medium, then the spray would be easier. If you are using leather then I would say the stick would be easier to apply. That's my 2 cents, Double O

The paste or crayon works better with the back of the poly webbing, canvas or leather strops. The sprays work best with the felt strops. In either case the key to using it, is to use very little. Just enough to see the color. Then very light pressure strokes for refreshing or to finish a honing regiment.

Thanks guys, I ended up going with the spray. I am a heavy handed guy and I think the spray will be easier for me to apply lighter on the fabric. I can just see my self put a quarter inch of crayon on the fabric and being stuck trying to get it all off...
