    Default victory!

not only a great shave(only like 2 little nicks: damn adam's apple ) but also with a razor that I cleaned, polished and honed myself!

This razor seems 6/8 and somehow a bigger size seems to work better for me, makes it cut better?

Bigger blades don't need to be as sharp to cut without snagging. In any case this is what the experience is all about and why I almost never buy new razors. The feeling after you get that great shave with a baby you did all the work on by yourself.

I am still enjoying the effect that the bench hone I made with Tony's leather is having on my rotation (gone through half of it) so there's always something new you can learn and apply to re-capture the joy even if you can control your RAD lol.

Ayh caramba! Don't say this. People are going to think they can shave with a less than perfect edge on their blades. I think every blade needs to be as sharp as it can possibly be before you use it to shave.

From my own experience I think you can get every bit as good a shave with a 4/8s as an 8/8s no matter how heavy your beard is.

    Sorry, had to say this.

But it's true. Bigger blades are easier to get to the point of removing hair, but if you want it to shave safely and comfortably, then it's a different story. They need the same level of sharpness.

Congratulations - that first good shave with a blade you've reconditioned and honed yourself is a real milestone, it's hard to beat that sense of satisfaction.
