In Houston, TX for the week

Well I've found myself in Houston through Tuesday of next week & I was wondering if anyone could recommend any shaving shops in town. I'd like to browse & possibly pick up one or two new razors while I'm down here, maybe a second brush to keep at home so I don't have to keep packing up every last little thing when I travel which is quite often.

Of course, if there are any members down here who'd be interested in meeting up one evening & showing off their collection I'd equally love to see that too!

I don't live to far from Houston, but I know nothing really of the shave shops there. There is a Art of Shaving in the Woodlands mall which is just outside of Houston. I believe they do shaves there too. That's about all the info I have. But you should eat at Fogo De Chao if you like steak. Go for lunch it's half priced and just out standing.

Hey thanks. Woodlands mall, is that off I-45 between Houston & Conroe?

I believe so but don't make me lie to you. I'd google it just to be safe.

Found it! I was disappointed at first as they only had 5 plain, ugly straight razors to choose from. I'd hoped to pick up one or two to have a good basis for my honing practice, but I just couldn't bring myself to buy one of them. I wound up leaving with some sandalwood cream and a new travel brush. It has longer bristles and a slightly larger bunch, which I've been wanting.

I must agree with mdixon2124. I have lived in the Houston area (give or take 40 miles) my whole life. Houston is known for a lot of things but shave shops are not one of them...but on the other hand Fogo de Chao is outstanding for lunch!

I'm not sure any city is known for shave shops, but my home has a population of about 2k. When I get to a big city I always try to take advantage of what's available :)
