Sharing more excitement--honing success

Not much to say other than thanks to all the people here that knowingly and unknowingly helped me to learn a few things about honing.

I have experienced a great deal of success with the advice offered here. I have honed several razors now.

It is really a special feeling to shave with a razor I restored myself. It's even more rewarding to be able to honestly say the shave was flawless (previously my honing results were harsh, but this time was like spreadin' warm butter)! I think I am onto something here...I have found a good combination/finish for me.

Now to find a way to improve upon it:D

I have two tool boxes full of hones already and just got a Naniwa SS 12k I have not even used yet LOL.

I know the feeling and it is a good one. What you have to watch out for now is ending up with a couple of hundred ebay and flea market razors to keep the flow of practice razors coming. That ain't a terrible fate if you don't also fall into the 'just one more hone syndrome' .... been there and done that. :gaah:

I will probably build my collection a bit, but not until I learn a bit more about how to spot/buy a good vintage razor.

I'm not done learning;)
