Another big step!
Well the last one was figuring out how to stretch the skin around my chin/lips for a good wtg/xtg, today I got without a doubt my closest shave ever. Since starting with a straight atg under and on my chin has always been associated with a bit of nervousness, because as soon as it starts to pull I shallow out the blade & wind up getting a not as close as I'd like shave. Additional touchups make it better, but with the cost of added irritation. (still not like the burn I got with my mach3's however)
Today I decided to use my new favorite, a 6/8 French point Wacker, and decided to try bringing the angle up. Wtg it seems to shave best around 35-40 deg, maybe a little less on xtg. Today instead of running flat I held it up around 25-30 on my atg and focused like never before on the feather touch, tiny 1/2 inch strokes, no pressure at all. I have to say my chin & neck cleaned up in far fewer strokes and I've only the tiniest bit of irritation on my chin, far less than usuall and astronomically less than with the mach3's. I do believe I may have found the trick with this particular razor!
Cheeks, jaw, sides of neck & chin are completely bbs, and nearly so under my chin. Another go would have cleaned it up nicely, but I decided to stop while I was ahead.

Good thinking, and congrats on a fine climb up the ladder;)

Seemed a little counter-intuitive to me, but it worked better than I'd expected. Thee are still little spots at the bottom of my chin that cause trouble, too low for a frontal attack & too high to get from underneath, but I'll figure it out eventually
