Shave cream fight!!! Seriously though, good luck and let us know if we can be of help.
Congrats on taking the plunge. You wont be disappointed with a Dovo and knowing it will come shave ready from SRD and Lynn will take all the guesswork out of wondering if its sharp or not. Enjoy it and have fun.
Here are some ideas for that canned shave cream:

I like the suggestion about using it to clean bathroom mirrors and thus prevent fogging!
Gift them to a person who could use them as you will soon learn why we love our shave soap!
Congratulations on the purchase, Ed. Enjoy the kit and good luck.
You could decorate your house with the canned goo and pretend its Christmas! Hee hee.
It shipped today less than 24 hours after ordering, now that is service. Now I just have to wait and see how long it will take to get here? The best part is my wife did not even grumble about the purchase! I told her that it will be my early christmas present.
Sounds like have done your homework and picked out a good setup. Good luck sir.
Where are the pictures? I refuse to acknowledge that you have a razor until I've seen a picture! We like pictures here :)
Edit: even if it's just a stock photo from the Internet, I still need my fix
Kenny it is not here yet my man, but when it is I shall post up a photo or two. Here is a teaser of what it will look like taken from the SRD website,Attachment 109613:p
Ahhh, yeah, there it is... :)
I really like the scales on that one. I'm usually a bone/horn fan & didn't much like the look of wood until I got a couple of Harts with maple scales with the most beautiful birdseye you've even seen. After seeing wood scales in person & not just on the web the grain really makes for a pretty razor. Something about the already antique, almost primitive feel of a straight razor that well-made wooden scales amplify. Perfection in simplicity and all that jazz....
I kind of like and or appreciate everything so far because I am new, and I am fascinated by most razors. You mention wood here is a recent post that I liked with very nice apple wood burl scales. http://straightrazorpalace.com/works...ons-wedge.html
Looks wonderful, but I could never use a razor that heavy. Wedges look great but just don't give the feedback I need to feel good during a shave.
I recently parted with a 7/8 Hart for that very reason, but I know it's going to a good home. :)
Guess what you all, It's here!!! My SRD kit arrived today, it was well packaged and unharmed. I have not decided yet when my first shave will be yet. I think that I will just try and make lather and shave with my Mach3 for the next couple of days.
Don't be skeered...
All kidding aside, choose a time where you can take your time & focus. I look forward to hearing your first shave report!
I don't know if scared and intimidated are the same or not but I am more intimidated by the razor than scarred. I have a heathy respect for the blade and want to master the art. I made what I thought to be okay lather this morning and enjoyed shaving even if it was with my cartridge razor.
I would like to thank Don, Lynn and everyone else behind the scenes at SRD!

Now I just have to man up and get to shaving tomorrow.:o
That looks a beatiful kit for a good start!
I think taht intimidated is the correct word, after some years I still am intimidated by that blade.
Each time I take a razor of mine, be it 4/8 or 7/8, I give him the respect that it deserves. It is always the winner, I can only do my best to limit blessing and no distraction is allowed.
