When do you become an ex-newbie?

According to that classification, I would probably be an SRFC.

Don't try and deny it, new is just new and there's nothing wrong with that. Hell new is exciting isn't it? There's so much to discover, so many new sensations. Here's to all the n00b's. I love you for it. *hick*

So, at what point does a newbie cease to be a newbie? So far I've honed 3 ebay razors to HHT, and must admit thrashed two others.

Haven't replaced scales or pins yet. Haven't ground a blade yet. Still feel incompetent with the strop.


Its not that I think I need to graduate, but when does one leave the newbie stage to a more intermediate stage?

I don't think I'll ever reach the honemeister or stropmeister stages. To much ADD. :rolleyes:

Guys, its not about me...... just trying to have a little fun by listing some standards that may include some funny listings, since we've all gone through the learning curve and still encounter confusticating things.

When You can diagnose a problem with your shave/equipment and take the appropriate action to cure it without resorting to places like this or texts on the subject.

This does not mean in any way that you know everything, just know enough to maintain a good shave for every day. We are all still learning and you would be fooling yourself to think you're not.
