Sorry, but have to say the best I've used has been the Gillette '04 WW1 years. Great razor. Truly a 2pass BBS shave.
In regard to make and model I am right with thebigspender.
The best razor is the one that works for you. Regardless of what make, model, era, style or type. If you can use it every day and come out cut, nick and rash free, you're onto a winner.

This is so like asking which child is your favorite. all the ones i own and the ones i have yet to acquire.
... but the ones that have been given to me as gifts are my most cherished and also some of my best shavers.

When I was starting out I had similar questions about what is the "best straight razor" but there is no true answer to that question. It's like asking what's the best car?
When it comes to straight razors, finding a favorite size, grind, well balanced scales, and quality steel are more important than a brand/model IMHO. The only way to find a favorite or a "best straight razor" for oneself is to try different straights and narrow down preferences.
I'll force myself to answer the difficult question :) my current favorites are: Taylor Eyewitness The 1000, Boker Damascus, Henckels 124, W&B 1/4 hollow.
This question has been asked again and again. Look in SOTD, if there was a "best one" everyone would have it.
Recently acquired Genco Easy Aces, just about any Joseph Rodgers & Sons or Wade & Butchers, Bismarck, Boker but not in that order. And then there are the..........well, just about any quality made razor properly honed.
