    Default Second shave

Just had my second straight razor shave I was nervious given the results of my first attempt (I've finally healed) and the disparaging remarks from family members (mostly my dad) about cutting my own throat. So I'm standing there with a nice lather on my face (using proraso with a synthetic brush I have ordered a badger brush and some EJ soap) and my Dovo in hand trying to remember all the adivice from the members here, time to bite the bullet 20mins later no nix and a pretty clove shave for only going with the grain I can't wait until my next shave I have really surprised myself.

    Thanks everyone
    Davie.

Good on ya for staying with it, Davie - it will get better, little by little, and sometimes plateau out or go backwards a bit.

Let us know how you are going and have a great Christmas and Hogmanay
Hang on and enjoy the ride...

Glad you were able to enjoy your shave. Remember to have patience and follow the advice of the folks on the SRP. The shaves will continue to get better and better.

    Enjoy your holidays.

I've found so far (6 shaves in) that there are ups and downs. No cuts but a few nicks and some shaves I'm "in the zone" and everything goes well while others I fiddle with grip, angle, switch from hand to hand, etc. All part of learning.

    Merry Christmas!

Great work Davie, the doubters can hang their heads in shame. Lol!

Onwards and upwards from here, still challenging but loads of fun to be had.
