Does anyone here make their own shaving soap or cream? I am wondering how difficult it would be to do. Any help or recipes would be appreciated.

I don't make my own but have altered some store bought soaps by adding oils and glycerin to them when melting them down in my soap dishes.
I don't think you will have trouble finding a basic recipe. A basic handsoap recipe from the net might be a place to start. Then all you have to do is keep tweaking the recipe as your knowledge level increases to make it more shave friendly.
I hope you have a lot of fun playing with ideas and formulas.
Ask and ye shall receive...
A recipe was posted not too long ago in another thread:

I don't but they are opening a shop that sells home made soaps across the street from my restaurant. She says they are going to have a wide variety of shaving soap and products.
From reading the wiki, I found a couple good resources:
Redneck Shaving Soap (melt & pour) - Straight Razor Place Wiki
and
Shaving Melt And Pour Base
Buying a base and adding additional ingredients to suit your personal preference seems like an easy way to go (and what I'll probably end up doing once I get a little more familiar with different soaps).
From what I understand it is not hard to do. If Tyler Durden can do it anyone can.
