traveling- DE vs SR disposables
Hi guys,
I'm eagerly awaiting all the 'gear' to arrive so I can get started on my SR journey (you guys will be getting plenty more questions from me in the future, so buckle up), but while reading tidbits from various posts a thought occurred to me. Should I get and learn how to use a DE razor as well, mainly for the purpose of traveling and other rare occasions or should I stick with SR skills and go disposable like the shavette, or perhaps a feather DX (which could be even better as i want to get into kamisori razors and maybe this would be a good introduction?) I gather from lurking in other posts an additional benefit to a DE is that you have a backup plan if time is tight or you are extra tired?
I've been using an electric shaver for most of my life and to be honest, i'm just used to having a crappy shave. I'm excited to jump into the wet shaving world but in a rare moment of foresight, I'm wondering what I'd do if i travel (especially if not checking luggage). Do get a disposable at the destination? Do i pack up my still-working electric and deal with a crappy shave? Just go mountain man and not shave at all?
I'm taking a wild guess that you can't carry-on a pack of disposable razor blades and people generally just stop by a store when they get there?
thanks for your time

I travel and use a dovo shavette with feather blades. All the smoothness of a sr and ease of a de. I prefer to check my luggage anyways since i am traveling a week at a time.
