So im finally ready to purchase my first straight razor and everything is out of stock. I planned on using straight razor designs but obviously thats not gonna work out at this point. Pretty excited, so I dont really want to wait. Where else should I buy from and what should I get. Im willing to spend around $100 on the razor itself.

All come shave ready out of the box, close in pricing to SRD, and good selections. I've personally bought razors from the first two, and heard good things about classicedge.com.
I would go with classic edge if your in Canada. Other than that SRD all the way....
SRD still appears to have the dovo bq 5/8 in blonde scales still in stock. At least when I went there a couple mins ago
SRD also has the Dovo "Best Quality" 6/8" in stock. It is a great starter.

The same thing happened to me months ago so I went ahead and did some research and came upon vintagebladesllc.com. Price not as good as SRD but come to find out they're professionally honed by the man himself, Lynn Abrams. Also, it's a veteran owned business and being a military veteran myself I knew I'd be taken care of. Good luck buddy!

Just bought my first from vintagebladesllc.com. I spent more than I had originally intended, but figured I would have the blade for the rest of my life anyway. Purchased on Sunday night around 11pm, and my order will arrive tomorrow, fully shave ready. I'm new to the process, and vendors; but that seems like a great turnaround.

Vintage Blades has great turnaround. If you live close to Maryland you can get the order the day after it has been processed. They ship out orders on a daily basis from my understanding.
I'd look in the member sales section. I see a nice Kama and a nice Joseph Elliot. There's probably more in your price range too. I assume that you're currently considering the Dovo starter razor. Nothing at all wrong with that razor. I own one too. But its a little forgettable for my taste. Consider a vintage one as well. You might get more bang for your buck.

I just received a straight razor set from Vintage Blades LLC and am very happy with it. I upgraded to the wider strop and got the XL black mug, and upgraded to the stainless steel stand. I spent a bit more than I originally intended, but it was everything I needed aside from my pre-shave and post-shave items of choice and some mineral oil for proper maintenance. All of which are very inexpensive and can be obtained from a local CVS (if you live in the states). Couldn't be happier. Prompt shipping, quick delivery, quality products and the SR was professionally honed by Lynn Abrams.
SRD has 2nd honing for free. That will come in handy you are learning to strop.
