Wanting to make an old Razor new

My name is Red, I am new here and really like this place so far.
I live in Wisconsin, just 30 miles south of the Frozen Tundra! Go Pack!!
I'm actually not from Wisc. I am transplanted southerner... call me a reverse carpet bagger!
The reason I am here:
I have my Great-Grandfather's straight razor I would love to get reconditioned. I would like to learn how to use his razor.
The razor is 120 years old and it has the rear pin missing and the scales are loose as a result.
Can anybody clue me in on a good restoration shop?

Hi there and welcome! So glad you found us, we are here to help. You can find a lot of great info in the beginners section. Sounds like you have a real special razor, many of us including myself wish we had a family heirloom like that. There are many restorers here including myself. I personally choose not to do heirloom razors due to their priceless nature. I'm sure some one here would be willing to help you. Check the classifieds for vendors! Enjoy your journey and congrats on appreciating a lost art your grandfather was a part of. Also.... Lets get some pics of that razor!!!!!

Thank you, I've had this Razor since my Grandmother passed and I really want to learn to use it.
I did not know there was a place like this or I would have started sooner!
