Srp modular strop question

Just got my new modular strop in from Srp today and had a quick question. It came with a smooth leather, a rougher leather and two grey things that I would liken closer to linen (but it's not) I forget what it actually is, and some .05 diamond spray.

So my question is... Which one do I start the diamond spray on? I have a nice hanging strop that I put the white ti paste on the linen side and I kinda regret doing that since it's more abrasive than what I think should be on it so I don't want to make the same mistake with my new toy.
Other than that this thing is gorgeous and just plain awesome. I'm astonished at SRP's quality, ingenuity, and speed on getting me this bad boy.

Most likely the wool felt, I have the srd paddle and came with two wool pads on which I sprayed one with diamond and the other with crox... So most likely should be wool. But to be sure post pics.

Wool felt! That's exactly it. I had a brain fart and was to lazy to look it up. So if I put the diamond spray on the felt, what would I put on the rougher leather?

I would leave the scrub leather as is..you have the f felt for the spray..use the scrub leather like you would use the linen or web on a normal strop.

I think it is the photo angle. His is taken sort of straight on and doesn't show the sides as your photos do. Obviously the material on the paddle is interchangeable and he has the leather while yours shows the felt. AFAIK there is only the one modular model.

That's what I thought too, but actually there's two paddles. One isn't modular and has textured leather on one side and Premium I on the other, fixed. The other paddle is the modular system. :)

Howard, I know that SRD also has a paddle with fixed components on either side. The OP said that his was the modular and that he received a variety of stropping materials with it. That is why I thought that the pictured paddle might be the modular. AFAIK, there is only one modular ...... but I could be wrong, I was wrong once before...... :thinking:

Agreed, I saw he had the modular also, but I hadn't realized there was a fixed paddle too. Thought it was worth noting. :D

Yeah your right, looks like he has the leather on his, I thought was also the wool he took a picture of... So that's why I mentioned his "wool" looks different than my "wool"

Yeah it was the angle I took the picture with, I had some junk around it and tried my best to take a quick pic without getting my sunglasses and change bowl in with it. Thanks Lynn for posting that video, it helped a lot.
One last question guys, the diamond spray I have is. 05, what would be another good paste to get to compliment my setup? I read someone else say they use crox but looking around it seems to be the same grit as the diamond spray.

I have the Diamond spray on one of the felt strops. On the rough leather I have crox rubbed on it.

I have the opposite of this, CrOX on felt and diamond on the scrub leather

I know there was a newer thread than this on the SRD modular strop, but I'm excited..

Mine came today with an extra leather pad that I ordered and the other usual stuff (SRD Lynn Abrams Modular Paddle, .5 Diamond Spray,
Hard Wool Felt Pads, Roughed Leather Pad). I love it because, I can now do everything with that set-up. I was already using a SRD paddle as my primary strop, but was using an old 2" linen side with CrOx as my step after the 12k Naniwa. Now I can just do rough leather, leather, diamond felt or CrOx felt with one tool...and it's too nice to all a tool. I did drill the handle so I can store it hanging, with a leather thong, and I retired my other paddle to my home office, where I can strop while thinking about email answers.

A great buy! Wish I had bought it first.
