Introduction and a question.
Hello Gents.
I'm David, a 22 year old guy from southern Sweden. I started straight razor shaving about a month ago, i bought a razor on a whim without having tried it before, thinking nothing could be worse then an electric razor or those horrid gilette type plastic thingies.
And Wow! shaving has gone from a dreadful chore to the most anticipated ceremony of the day! I finally understand the expression "smooth as a babies bottom"!
There is one thing i have noticed though, i bought a Böker King Cutter shave ready from the invisible edge, and i didn't strop it before i tried it the first time, the razor felt incredibly sharp against my skin, just on the edge between the best fealing ever and slightly unpleasant.
Now though the razor follows the skin so lightly i can barely feel it, i still get an incredibly close shave, and i have no doubt it is still as sharp, but the fealing has changed.
I'm not complaining though, it really feels smooth as silk, but the way it felt when i first started really had me on my toes, which was kind of nice.
I take very good care of my razor, making sure there isn't a drop of water anywhere on the knife when i'm done and keeping it in a dry place.
So my question is, is this to be expected as the skin gets more and more used to straight razor shaving or could it be that the razor is actually dulling, just not enough to be noticed in the result yet?
