Default Newbie scored an Othello Razor and is about to start on his straight shaving journey

Hello all, I have been DE shaving for a while now and have been waiting for the right opportunity to jump into straight shaving. Before I do I'm going to a barber to be shaven and to try to pick up some tips. That and some you tube and some help from this forum.

Went away this weekend an visited some antique stores. Found this straight razor for 12 bucks!!!!
Cant find much info on it online, I don't believe it to be too old even though the box is old. I'm not so sure that box is even a match

It reads Othello 899 or 669 depends on how you look at it. Anton Wingen JR Solingen Germany

    Next steps:
Find out how old this is
    Clean it
Take it to get honed and shave ready anyone know what the best way to go about that?

Looks like a nice razor and should clean up with just some light polishing.

My suggestion is to send it out for honing. Look under member services in the classifieds.
