I have been reading how many people have multiple soaps in their rotation. Does that mean that they have multiple mugs/bowls with all the different soaps in them lying around their bathroom?
I know this may sound crazy, but I just don't get it. Do people put them in zip locks or something at the end of the shave and get ready for the next one?
I currently have 2 in rotation. Each in it's own mug on the sink. Sometimes you just feel like something different, whether it's a different lather, different consistency or different scent.
I currently go back and forth between Colleen's Highlander and Cavendish Black. The Highlander is a crisp clean scent, the Black is a deeper more robust scent.
I do have a cake of Williams that I started with which I cleaned off and put back in a ziplock for a backup. It's a good soap but I just don't enjoy the experience it provides as much as the other soaps I have so it'll probably become a travel soap or something like that.

I have about 6 soaps in my rotation and have 6 mugs of all different types near my gear. No different than some guys have a bunch of brushes, strops, razors, hones. It becomes a hobby after a while and its all part of the fun.
I have different ceramic bowls and paid through the nose -- $7ea for the first 3 and $5ea for the last 2. However, they're pimpin' black ceramic. If you want to go cheap, you can get those plastic ziploc round containers.

I've got a pretty bad case of soap acquistion disorder. Currently, I have around 14 different Mama Bear soaps (all different scents) in their own resealable containers, 1 SCS soap in a mug, 1 Tabac soap in the tabac container with a lid, 1 Burma Shave soap in a mug, 1 Williams soap in a mug, 1 Old Spice soap in a mug with a lid, 1 Avon Gentlemans Regime soap in a mug, and 1 Em's Place soap in a resealable container. I am probably forgetting some, but this list is already pretty long, so you get the point. I only keep 1 soap out on the bathroom counter, the rest are put away in linen closet.
Just remember that of all the ____ acquistion disorders, shaving soap is definately the cheapest. Even cheaper than aftershave acquisition disorder!

I sometimes use plastic 500 ml icecream containers.
Pyrex makes small, resealable glass containers that I use to keep my soaps. Right now I have two in the rotation.
The containers are about a 6 oz. size, and I can start the lather in the container before moving to my latte mug.

I probably have about 30 or so soaps now- much to my wife's dismay;) . If they don't come with their own container, I use the XS ziploc or glad (I can't remember which) round plastic bowls, as Ilija mentioned. They have a lid and stack nicely. I keep them stacked under the sink. They work well.

You could also eat a lot of soup from a Chinese take-out place. Those pint plastic containers (after being washed well) would work and they come free with the purchase of soup.
I have multiple mugs - some are the traditional style mugs, some are the wooden bowls, some are soup mugs. Unfortunately, I have more soap than mugs -- those are still in their wrapper from the vendor (awaiting their turn in the rotation).
I have 12 or so soaps and several creams (in the process of trying to find only several I want to stick with) I like only some of the soaps, and most of the ones I like - I don't like SO much (or, I love the scent but they irritate my skin :rant: )
They are either in their own containers (e.g. Tabac, L'Occitane, Nomad, QED), in glass resealable (pyrex?) containers (Honeybee), Glad stackable cups (Colleen) and even ziplock bags...
I need to get some more soaps...

No Ilija, not even close! This is just research... I plan to settle eventually with only a few (this sounds like my song w/ the razors, I hope soaps are easier)

Nope, they're not. And they're cheap enough that it doesn't hurt until you realize that buying one here, three there, etc. adds up! Plus, they're harder to hide from your wife than razors. :wQuote:

What about Dragon's Blood, Mayan Gold, Pearberry, and Egyptian Musk? I couldn't live without at least those 4. With the first and the last being my favorites!

When I was starting I made a quickie spreadsheet with 40 or so products (soaps and creams) I wanted to try eventually, with various categories for scoring, etc. Then I had the temerity to post to that effect on B&B.
Little did I know what was about to hit me: Joedy attached this screen capture of his spreadsheet. 498 products at the time and growing!!!

The cool thing about this hobby is that you can tell your wife/girlfriend that your not as bad as some people on the forums! Then you can show her that spreadsheet for proof.
