Question about DR Harris shaving cream.

Has anyone noticed that some jars come with the cream harder than others? I have an almond and Arlington that are perfect but the lavender is fairly hard. Not as hard as a soap but hard enough that you can't just dip your brush in to get any out, so you kind of have to use it like a soap and load the brush by whipping it in the jar a little before moving to the scuttle as you would soap. If I wanted soap I would buy soap. I like the cream for the smoothness and ease of lathering. The end result is the same but found it odd. I have seen other scents that are harder too so its not just the lavender.

It likely has less to do with the scent and more to do with age. You probably got an old jar that has dried out a bit. It's happened to me too; you paid for a cream but got a "soap" instead. I've found that you must load the brush like it's a soap but it lathers more like a cream when applied to the face. YMMV though.

And yes, my dried cream was DR Harris as well.....

That is not so uncommon. I've found that with several cremes. I don't know if it's because it's old or it's the formulation.
