I found a site that seemed to be affiliated with this site. Do you all think this is a good buy for a beginner?

I think it is a good buy. It will shave you well
Great blade. A little pricey for me, but i'm sure it'll do a great job.
Lol, I thought it was inexpensive.
Is it still pricey considering free shipping, a strop, bowl, brush and stand?
Good site, good razor, but for an extra $20.00 I'd add a 3" strop. Much Easier to use IMO! :gl:
Regards,
Howard :)
I would also go with the 3'' strop.
Everyone works with different resources (ie, money) but I think you made a smart move by not going for the bottom of the line razor. If a person can afford to spend just a few more dollars, I think they increase their value significantly.
That's the kit I just got for my first razor. I'm happy with it. I would go for the 3" strop also.
Get Lynn's DVD. You can thank me later.:beer1:
Hey! I went ahead and spent the extra 14 or so bucks on the dvd since it was discounted with my purchase. Glad it has good reviews.
You have to be careful with these kit packages cause often times the razor may be fine but the rest of the package can be of far lower quality and in the end you wind up replacing everything else. it's good in this case he has upgrades but like with buying a car the upgrades jack the price up fast.
I do own one of those razors.. It is a great shaver. In fact I have loaned it to some of my buds to entice them into the world of str8ts.
I think you chose well .
Sadly, this is another business that advertises on an international website that won't ship overseas.
I think this is a lovely looking razor an I'm sure it will serve you well! Good luck with it and enjoy every shave:gl:

I have spent lots of money with Jim and don't regret it a bit. Get the three inch strop if its not too late! The Latigo leather strop that he sells does a fantastic job.
Thanks everyone. You've all been a lot of help.
