Hello everyone,
I'm almost certain I must be doing something wrong, because I'm seeing stainless steel rust? I did my best to dry the product after shaving but the razor and shank both now have rust on them.
Please advise.

make sure that you have no water on the inside of the scales? I alway run a piece of toilet paper inside the scales to make sure there dry before I put her away.
Are you sure its rust? Sometimes soap stains can look like it. Anyway, for either situation use some polish (like MAAS) and a Q-tip or microfiber cloth should fix it up. You then will only need to polish before honing.
To prevent this from happening again just make sure to rinse your razor well and wipe carefully. I would also strop it after use to make sure the very edge is dry and clean. Don't forget to wipe clean and dry the inside and outside of your scales- especially at the pivot joint. Some people use a hair dryer there (I personally don't) Also mind where you store your razor after use. Perhaps let it stay outside of its container to further air dry. I also apply oil (mineral oil is fine) with a finger carefully on all parts of the blade afterwards. It wipes off easily before next use and in doing so you are getting somewhat of a cleaning benefit.
As you start doing these things be very careful since the razor is a delicate instrument and the edge is most delicate. But, with practice these habits will take very little time and will be very easy for you to do and you should never see rust again.
When you rinse the razor "only rinse the blade" and keep the toe pointed down. Dry immediately. That way you'll get no water in or around the scales.
Not much to add to the already given good advise. You did not say if you live in a high humidity climate or store your razors in the bathroom which would amount to the same thing. For the former take the extra precaution of oiling your blades post shave and for the latter don't store them in the bathroom. I do not live in a high humidity climate and don't store my razors in the bathroom. I do all the previously given advise but not the oiling and have had no problems with rust on either my carbon or stainless blades.
When stainless rusts it is usually just sort of staining and any metal polish should take care of it. Metal polishes like Mothers Mag and Aluminum, Flitz and the like.

Baby oil and mineral oil are usually the same thing. I use them for razors that see use several times a week with no issues. Stainless is only stain resistant. I've got plenty of stainless and carbon steel knives. Some of the stainless will develop a patina or begin to rust rather quickly and some non-stainless ones won't (like my CPM 3V). If I get my whole razor wet or know I've gotten moisture in the pin area then I'll dry it really well and leave it out for as long as I can before I have to go to work to dry....have had some patina in areas, but no rust yet. Hope this helps.
I live in a very humid area. I run toilet paper through my scales after shaving, strop the blade and then I put a light coat of baby oil on the blade after shaving. I have yet to have a problem with any kind of rust using this method.
If you store the razor in a box, like I do, put a couple of those little bags of desiccant (the ones that come with may products and say "do not eat") to absorb the extra moisture.
What kind of razor? Pictures? A wide variety of responses, but what are you dealing with?
