My first and only strop is a 2" SRD Latigo strop. Besides the 10 or so nicks in it, it has worked very well. All I have been doing is before stropping on the leather, I rub my palm on the leather for about 20 seconds. I heard this is good enough to break in and condition your strop.
Should I do anything else?
I do have a bottle of neatsfoot oil but I don't want to ruin my strop.
What you are doing is good enough. Neatsfoot won't ruin the leather, but it should be used sparingly and generally only if the leather needs it (losing suppleness, sanding out a cut or nick, etc.)

I've also used a pumice stone for the nicks. I've never used anything but my palm on my strops.....beside crox spray for touching up the razor.
Rubbing the strop with a human hand is about all that's needed. Your own hand is best unless your name is Hannibal Lector . :)
Listen to Jimbo and what he is saying! I ruined a very nice strop by putting neatsfoot oil on it. It left the draw so heavy I could barely pull the razor over it...obviously I over-applied!
Rub your had over your forehead and any oily parts of your face and use that to treat your strop. Works great!
