Sweet might be a place to check out for creams as I found my face dry from the shaving soap.

I've purchased all my razors off of eBay but you need to know how to evaluate a razor, and know your preferences. Ex. full hollow, 1/4 hollow, wedge, frame back. Then there's the width and shape. A lot of the sellers are
shavers/collectors. Word or warning, one will never be enough! So there's a good chance the seller can answer questions .That being said there's a huge community to answer any questions here as well. The only place I've ever seen a new razor is at the board room. Antique stores will have some. But it's unlikely the owner will be able to help you out.
Fendrihan online is canadian and has a decent selection and being canadian will ship quite a bit quicker. The big hurdle is learning to hone, strop, and shave. For me it took a lot of reading, and trial and error. Probably would have been easier with someone there hands on but if I can do it, anyone can. one of
my friends is taking the plunge. He bought a razor new and it isn't shave ready so I'll be squaring him away this week. Any questions, concerns, help honing or whatever message me (fsgt_mcphee@hotmail.com)

If you ever make it down to Calgary, there is Knifewear. They will be opening a shaving specific shop soon as well. They usually have a couple different brands of razors available and a decent selection of soaps, aftershaves, and oils.

There is a one stop shop for your shaving needs inside the West Edmonton Mall phase II, beside Mark's. Please visit The Shaving Kit - Your One Stop Shop for Wet Shaving Needs(theshavingkit.ca) for more information. I hope this helps you.

    Thanks,

Hi Jordan, my name is Doug. I know there is a new store in West Edmonton Mall called "The Shaving Kit". Its a small shop near Galaxyland where the SportCheck used to be. They don't have the best selection of razors but they do have brushes, creams, stands etc...It might be worth looking at the Body Shop or something like that for creams.

I bought my gear at the Kent of Inglewood desk which was inside Knifewear on Whyte Ave. I believe they just opened a store next door now.

Hello zombie thread. But yes they do have a nice little store there, as a matter of fact we are having a gathering there on the 16th of January. Check the Meetings and Get Togethers sub forum.

Thanks! Can't make it on the 16th but will keep my eyes open for the next one. Yeah i'm new to the forum and very new to using a SR. Three shaves in so far but not doing horribly bad I guess. I think I have figured out the wrong way to strop. Hoping I can bring it back with the nylon side without having to get it honed.
