chromium oxide from pigment

I don't find anywhere this chromium oxide paste, but I see that several
enamel storees have The chromium oxide pigment.
Is a very fine green dust, and I tink to try it, maybe mix in with some paraffin or wax.

Any Suggestions?

That's how they did it back in the old days. My great grandfather had what my grandmother described as "a green painted board" that he used to help keep his razor sharp. Sadly, when he died (when I was about 4) they threw away his straight stuff.

How do you check the particle size? I'm sure I can get the pigment here cheaper than $40 per lb that it costs me shipped from the US.

Try here, $12 a pound. I have made up my own paste with this stuff, using Vaseline petroleum jelly as a vehicle.

Thanks for the cheaper place Chris. Most of my expenses came from s&h and customs/brokerage fees, but $8 is $8. After I give Jason his share, I'll still have about 0.5lb left (minus what I have or have sent out) but I wish it was possible to source locally, here in Canada.

I've tried green crhomium oxide pigment mixed with veseine to polish a blade and seems it works great!
