Hi all,
Well have now had 8 shaves with my Straight and all going well. Apart from the fact I seem to have picked up a water mark at the end of my razor,also it is fairly big about 10mm total. Also picked them up around the Tang at the gimps.
Just looking for some help on best way to remove them?

My Boker tang has darkened by my skin oils, since its carbon its guaranteed that carbons knives are gonna patina over time I thought this may well be normal.
Phew spots on the the blade also but not on the edge.
The best way to remove these is using a mild dishwashing soap, hot water and a micro fiber towel. This can be caused by soap residue, mineral deposits from your water or both. If this doesn't work then I would use a metal polish like Maas or Flitz. After you have it cleaned up remember that this can always be prevented with a thorough rinse and dry after the shave. Cotton makeup removal pads work very well to clean and dry off a razor after use. I would also consider applying oil (like Camellia) to your razor after it's cleaned. It prevents rust and also helps clean your razor when you wipe it off before next use.
If you go with polish keep it a way from the edge as it will usually mess with the edge you have.
In place of the usual oil's I use silicone spray lubricant after polishing, but I live in a dry climate and keep my razors away from humidity.

I've gotten rid of watermarks on my Dovo by gently rubbing them with baking soda. It works nicely and doesn't harm the metal.
Some good solutions above, but, the best way to take care of water spots, is not to get them. :) Try to always keep water, lather, etc. out of the pivot pin area, and at the end of a shave clean the blade carefully. I use liquid hand soap to remove the glycerin, lanolin or other oil left by the soap or cream on the blade because it will hold moisture. Just a drop on my fingers and a careful wipe and rinse. Dry on a soft towel and then strop 10 to 12 laps on fabric and then leather to be sure no gunk or moisture is left on the edge and then lay it open for a period to let any moisture in the scales, etc. to dry. Works like a charm. Also treating the blade with Renaissance Wax periodically will help to protect it also. Straight Razor Maintenance & Repair Needs. Some oil their blades between shaves, but I've found with the above regimen that I don't get rust, etc. and don't have to apply and clean oil off daily.
