3rd time beginner (straight -> DE -> accidently sliced fingertip -> DE again)

Hi there,
This would be my 3rd time introducing myself.

A little background to me:
- Joined SRP forums
- Started straight shaving, wasn't very good at keeping a sharp blade. Gave up.
- Started DE shaving, loved it
- The Merkur Futur + Feather blade sliced my dominant hand index finger deeply and took months to heal.
- Switched back to Mach3 Turbo temporarily
- Returned to DE with a new Merkur Slant Bar + Simpsons Chubby 1 brush

I hope to start participating in some mouth-watering shaving discussions once again! (hooray)

It doesn't matter how many times you get knocked down, just how many times you get back up and try again.

I accidently sliced my thumb with a straight and needed four stitches when I started.

The DE solved my problems with shaving, but persevered with the straight because I got bored DE shaving.

The Merkur Slant Bar is my favorite DE by far.
