Hi there, fellow BeNeLuxers!
This part of the forum has been online for quite a while. Although it hasn't kicked off into a real frenzy, we get a lot of visitors.
Maybe it's time to take our relationship to the next level.
My wish is to poll the users for a meeting. Depending on the amount of users that want to attend, I'll find a suitable location.
We can exchange experiences, show goodies and drink some drinks.
Soooo do the polling thing ;)
It's a great idea, I voted not sure because it depends on when and where. View my vote as a tentative yes.
There's this village in the south of Belgium that's quite nice. Vielsalm.
If it's easily reachable by train I'll go :).
Stone's throw away for me, perhaps we could even take in the quarries. Only been there the once and remember it as a little sleepy, could be totally wrong though, reasons for going were a bit specific (delivering a washing machine to a friend) but it does have a station with connections to Liege so that could work.Quote:

Sounds like a plan, I like to attend but it depends when and where :) If it's not too short time, it's a good idea!
Vielsalm would be nice, though perhaps a tad bit unpractical for our northern brethren. Antwerp or Eindhoven would be a more central location, and fairly easy to reach from anywhere in the Benelux.
True Bruno, very unpractical. I went there last year and the trip took me more than two hours from Brussels (on a Friday evening, with traffic jams, road works etc. ...). Buuuuut it was worth it :beer1:Quote:

Maybe we should just reserve a couple of tables at an Irish pub, have a meal and get the gear out afterward. Look at some razorpr0n, (learn to) hone, exchange tips and drink a beer or two :beer2:. When there is the need for an excursion we could arrange that at a later date imho.Quote:

Oh, should Antwerpen be chosen: there's a shop there that sells straight razors, coticules, soaps etc ... called koordenwinkel.

I'm really up for Antwerpen or Eindhoven. Although Eindhoven has my favor (I'm biased, of course ;))
So let's first keep the two choices on Eindhoven and Antwerpen, any good ideas are always welcome.

Another point is the date, September is too far away imho. I'm thinking more in line of April. To ease the pain of the working class, weekends would be best :beer1:
It would depend on the location and the date for me. But I'd come if I could.
With all due respect for the motherland, I would definitely opt for Antwerp. And not just so we can visit de Messenwinkel, also because of Coticules, belgium beers, belgium girls, and because Antwerp is very nice.:beer2: :beer1:
I would love to come, date of no importance to me as I'm retired :-)
But maybe some of us could pick up others within reasonable distance and travel together? I live in the centre of West-Vlaanderen - Belgium. Others are welcome to ride along if they want. Ron

That being said. Guys, I would also prefer Antwerp because, well, there's more fun to be had. I will think of a place to meet (seems we already have a place to meet should we decide to meet in Eindhoven). For full disclosure: I'm living pretty close to Antwerp.
Antwerp seems good for me, depends when it is though.
Can I propose something guys ?

Usually I would have voted for "Sure, sounds like a great plan" and would be happy to join but I am currently and for the undetermined future based in Singapore for work reasons instead of Luxembourg, it very much depends on "When & where" as I do not travel that frequently to Continental Europe anymore...:rant:
Antwerp has my preference. Perferably in the summer season so that we have a chance at decent weather. And who knows... maybe we'll even have a government by then :D

Antwerp is ok, nice city. Does anyone know the little road in Antwerp, last time I was there I had a lousy guide.

What exactly is doodle again? The name seems to ring a bell. I think we used something with that name for organizing one of the meets in the US. And of course former members should be welcome too.
Doodle is an scheduling tool wherein every participating member can indicate when they can participate. It's basically a sort of polling tool.
I'll check. I think we used it before.
End of april / or may sounds like a plan!
Antwerpen/Eindhoven is good too.. Amsterdam is quite for, especially for our Belgian friends
