Nope. I bought mine at woodcraft. As far as I know, noone is selling them here. And even if they were, they will likely be much more expensive than what you'd pay for it in the US, even if you include shipping cost.
That said, if you don't insist on Norton and want to buy in the benelux , Willy Vanhoutte - Slijpen en afwetten
Is a reputable seller. I've bought tropical hardwood there, and a colleague of mine has bought synthetic hones there. Excellent service.
Try Straight Razor Designs, order it online. That's where I got mine.
No. But the Naniwa Super Stones are good stones as well and can be bought at knivesandtools.nl
Competitive prices and good service !
They vary.
Thanks guys for all the heads up!
I decided with some advice to go with a Thuringian stone in combination with a high grit Arkansas oil stone. Together they will cost me about 85 euro, which is a good starter for just the touching up part.
For the ones interested, I did some research and sent out some emails to customer services of the European providers. But none of them are willing/able to provide a Norton for a reasonable price. So I guess you were right about ordering from the US is the most economical option if you insist on a Norton..
We need Birnando here (Norway), or maybe PM Bart Torfs (Belgium), or order from SRD.
You can get great shaves off a norton 8K.
If you can't, there is really no point in going higher because it means your edge isn't good enough to really improve from going higher.
Like putting ceramic brakes on a car. If you can stop yourself rear-ending other cars, ceramic brakes are not the answer to the problem you're having.
I’ve purchased many hones, holders etc from this supplier not only for myself but for my ‘apprentices’!
I’ve found their service exceptional! I don’t know if they ship internationally. It wouldn’t hurt to ask!

I hope that this helps!
For anyone interested, I did find a German supplier with good prices for actually any Japanese waterstone in Europe..
Homepage of Dieter Schmid's Fine Tools
Dieter Schmid is first class. I bought from them couple of times and they ship quickly and with reasonable costs. They sell the Naniwa Superstones without stands.
Classic Hand Tools are UK based and they have Nortons. I've ordered a 220/1k and 4k/8k from them for 125.38 pounds, including VAT and shipping to Romania. It would've cost me about 20 pounds more should I've order them from US of A. Shipping is the culprit, guess you just can't honk two bricks over the pond too cheaply :rofl2:
Hope it helps!
