Chineese brushes
Am I better getting a non-badger hair brush over something like this?
LIOJUNY SHAVING - Pure Badger Hair Shaving Brush With Black Plactic Handle | eBay
Not sure if all the hairs will fall out or something.
Also, how useful is a stand, would you say they're essential?
Cheers

Thank you,
I have ordered it now.
Unfortunately is won't arrive before my first shave so I'll have to use my hands. At least then I can see the difference.

Estimated delivery is an absolute age.
I'm wanting to do my first shave next weekend, when home, what should I do in the meantime? Will lathering with hands suffice?

Give a shot, just need to work up some lather.

Get some brushless cream to get by on till your brush comes in.

You can take a washcloth and make a ball with it to face lather.

Kind of like in the photo. This washcloth is small being made for an infant but I'm sure you get the idea.

I just received two Liojuny brushes last week. Delivery time was 11 days from ordering to taking delivery of them in the UK - but from their feedback I'd say I was lucky.
Basically I am kitting a friend out with everything he needs to take up shaving with a straight, as birthday gift. But I needed to do it on the cheap, so have refurbished a razor, made a strop...you get the idea. These brushes seemed very good value for money, but a bit of a concern not knowing what the quality would be like. Anyway, I ordered one for my friend, and thought as they were so cheap I'd get myself one too.
I am pleased to say that the two I have are fantastic brushes - I am really pleasantly surprised. They aren't shedding too many hairs (no more than you would expect from any new brush), and the quality of both the hair/knot and the milled handle are great. Plenty of backbone too, which I was pleased about - yet still soft on the face. Just a really good brush all round - seems almost impossible from such a cheap item.
I'd certainly recommend them for those on a budget. That said, one of the brushes I got had the stand included, but it was next to useless...the brush kept falling out of it. But that was the stand's design to blame - nothing to do with the brush.

You can buy a boar brush for around 6 bucks at the drug store. Hold you over and you get to try out 2 kinds :<0) I think walmart has some also.
Oooops just noticed that may be a long trip for you to go to walmart :<0)

I have one of those Liojuny brushes as well. I find it performs indistinguishably from my AOS silvertip. They're surprisingly nice. Though that said badger hair comes from China so we probably shouldn't be to surprised.
