Simpsons Wee Scot - Review
Last week I ordered a Simpsons Wee Scot.
This came about because I have a handlebar moustache and I wanted to be able to soap up (I face lather) without getting soap everywhere. I need to soap up behind the ends of my moustache and this is difficult with a normal sized brush. I have a 24mm silver tip with a 55mm loft and also a Semogue Owners club boar brush which has a longer loft. I was hoping the boar would be stiffer and be more controllable but it's also a big brush when full of soap as is the silvertip. They both flood my stache with soap.
The Wee Scot arrived and I got it out the box and yes it's smaller then you could imagine, it sure looks bigger online! My wife laughed. I did too.
So Today I gave it a quick test. I decided to give it a whirl with Col. Conks Bay Rum soap.
I gave the new brush a soak and I also flicked a drop of water or two on top the soap while I had a shower.
I had to laugh as I picked up the brush again , it's so small. I started working the soap and I was amazed at how quickly it lathered up. I have an old spice mug and it was filling rapidly with thick creamy lather, and I was only trying to load the brush!
I started working on my face in a painting motion and WOW I just couldn't believe how accurately I could apply the lather and work it. My stache ends and ears where clear of soap. Bonus.
The Wee brush was so full of soap I was amazed, easily enough for a three pass shave. (minus my upper lip of course).
My only complaint is the handle is very small, don't get me wrong It's not difficult to use, or hold but its not the easiest to use in a deep mug like my old spice mug, however it would be great for a shallow dish, mug or skuttle. I would think it would be fantastic in a dish such as the MWF ceramic bowl with lid or similar.
I also have to say the clean up was so easy too, I didnt take long to wash the brush out at all.
I am amazed at this little brush and how it performed, all credit to Simpsons, I can really see why it is their only signed brush, and I am so glad I bought it.
