I just wanted to get some opinions. I want to get a better brush than my 2 I have right now but I don't want to spend 200 dollars. I love one of the brushes in the classifieds. It's a silver tip that cost 110. I feel like it's to go to be true. Why are they so cheap, and are they quality?
If you are talking about the brushes by Pixelfixed they are reputed to be outstanding brushes. I don't have one yet. I have no idea why they seem like such a great deal. I know from his posts that he only uses quality knots. I think if you are looking for a new brush, if those brushes appeal to you and are in your price range, step right up. He has a good reputation for a reason.
He's sold an awful lot of them and I've never seen any complaints so that speaks for itself.
Personally when I buy a brush I'm concerned with the business end not the handle. For me I like either the Manchurian brushes by Simpson or the German ones by Thater. It's all a matter of what you like as far as qualities go and how important the handle is.
Pixelfix has definitely got what you want he has some beautiful brushes & He even does customs so may be able to help you get a slightly different one to those already in the classifieds

Pixelfixed is an artist and a craftsman with a reputation for producing topnotch brushes. He made two brushes for me using the handles I had sent him and I was delighted with his work.
Thank you all for the positive comments.Are many great custom Brush makers on SRP,we all do differant things in differant ways.
I only use TGN Knots,mostley grade As or two bands,They are not cheap and I provide them at cost,do not mark them up a penny.
Sans the cost of handle materials which is not much, some of the brushes I make can take 6/8 hrs so net profit is < $7 an hr.
I have passion for doing what I do.
And when asking for a custom piece Bills communication is excellent.
He makes sure he knows what you are after. :tu

As it's been stated, there are several brush craftsmen on this site, many use the same quality knots. I suggest you look at the work of several vendors that are members here & choose what interests you, then reach out to the vendor, he will probably make you a bush suitable just for you. I have a liking for certain types of handles, so I contact the vendor & ask for a certain type of knot, set a certain way.Quote:
