I use an old in expensive brush to apply Noxema for a pre shave and another old brush to apply talcum powder. They work fine.

The brush on the right is a cosmetic brush, I make alot of them out of Sable and Syn.
Wife sells them at craft shows,ladys love them.

Man oh man...it's the brushes that got me in deep pixelfed. I couldn't justify the cost of a good one, so I started making them on my lathe. Suffice it to say I have spent more on woodworking equipment and badger knots than the best brush at Art of Shaving. It's a sickness, but I love it.
