Dr. Shaving brushes
I purchased a Dr. Shaving brush recently. It is sold along side Frank's brushes but seem ime worse. I have been pretty happy with the Fs post initial shedding, but this Dr. Shaving sheds more and holds less water despite a larger diameter knot. Has anyone else had experiences with the not so good Dr?

Is he a real Dr or a quack? Har har.
I never heard of the brand.

I have never heard of the Dr. Brush either. From you describe, I suggest dumping the brush for a quality boar or badger brush. For boar, try Semogue and Omega. For badger, the list is long. Try a reasonably priced Simpson, Thater, Vulfix or Edwin Jagger.

I actually have a couple Semogue; the SOC 2 band and 2000. They are excellent brushes! I have and Omega 49 as well that's currently being broken in. What I meant with this post was FS can put out some decent brushes though hit or miss from what I've heard, but this second brand by the same fellow is truly terrible ime. My 2000 holds more water than this "silvertip" badger from Dr. Shaving. I do drool at the thought of buying a Simpson badger soon though! Well I'm sure the "Duke of Ducks" would know a quack better than I :rofl2: but seriously I wasn't expecting much and this still didn't deliver.
