I don't know if a "fix" has already been posted, but I'been warned that "NEW" shaving brushes "stink"!!!
Any practical solutions for an effective and timely "De-Stinking" process?
How about soaking brush in Water and Arm & Hammer Baking Powder?

I shampood and conditioned mine and it helped, but the real solution is just to suck it up for a few lathers until it goes away.

Using the brush will take care of it, strong fragranced shaving soap/cream recommended.

Well first you have to make sure the hair is detached from the badger.
Many will tell you the smell is like perfume but if you don't like it a shampoo or two will dispense with it or just use it a few times and it will disappear.
I like to whip up a few batches of Proraso.

if you're a newbie - you're in luck because you can practice lathering at the same time - now that's efficient, pleasant, and a great investment. Can't beat that combo

I just shampooed mine after my first shave, I didnt think that dead-badger-smell would come out.
I think I shampooed it a second time after my second shave, and after that the smell went away.
I was mortified though at the stink during that first shave though
