I agree. Really can't go wrong with the classics.
I could never go for a brush that didn't have a flat bottom to stand up on its own. I do hang them overnight to dry, but the herd stands up once they are done drying. Cool old brushes though.
Ideas, ideas flowing through my head. They're all so cool!
i love the tall barber brushes. i took some ideas from vintage brushes for the one i made in curly koa.
In the middle of commissioning a huge (100mm+) handle made in faux Ivory. Not sure wether to go with a huge extra dense silver tip know a a nice big boar. Gonna be in that old school design. 2nd row, second from left
Will come with matching scales for my latest wade and butcher restoration. Can't wait
Do you know what year this is from? Just curious.
Thanks for posting.
Ever-ready was the undisputed king of the common man's brush for many many years.
I once had a brush with a long handle with a rounded bottom and I hated it because it wouldn't stand on end.
That is so cool, I have 2 of those that I have restored.
Love the old long handled brushes. AWESOME bowl latherers...a couple of my current favorites for the bowl:

Say shave brush and this is the picture that forms in my head. You can hang onto them and whip water out, lathers in the brush not on your fingers, they hang better. Did I mention I like them ? Just got a few new old ones to restore.
Here is a long handled face lathering brush I made from a broken cedar tree branch I picked up and a 44mm pure black badger knot from whippeddog.

I could have sworn it said 44mm knot, maybe it was 34mm. I normally deal in standard measurements but the knot is around 1.25 inches in diameter at the base.
