So I would really like to see a brush with an 8 ball as a handle. Has anyone seen and/or owned one like this? Either that or a gear stick knob. I think these would be great :)

I actually thought about the 8 ball idea after seeing pixel use the vintage cue ball.
I am surprised he hasn't posted a pic of one yet :<0)
Has been done many times with modern phenolic billiard balls, they are not ergonomic in hand.
I used to be able to buy Ivory snooker balls for cheap, most came from england back in the day,you still see them on ebay today.
But they have become collectable for the balls themselves.
All I had were cut into slabs as spacers or turned solid to make brush handles (not an easy task)
One of the last ones I made Hirlau has I belive.
I would never today use an ivory ball to make a brush handle, the ball itself is worth more than a brush handle.
Last Of The Mohicans :boohoo: ;)

Thx John, that one has some classic grain to it,not often seen.
Whats of interest is they were not made that long as they were not that durable as Billiard and snooker balls, were only made for about 50 yrs.
Almost all were made in England when tusk size avearaged about 70/90 lbs ea.
Only 3-4 regulation size balls could be made from a tusk.
The thought did occur to me that the round shape of the ball may prove difficult in usage. Could be why they're not seen so often. The gear knob could be good but that would make for a heavy brush.
That is a very nice brush though Hirlau, well done pixel!
someone did some Sponge Bob golf ball brushes late last year that were pretty good looking too
