Comparison pics would be good :)
Couldn't wait, I've always wanted the Chubby No.1 for the "extra dense" badger hair.
Don't know about the overall height or price or quality between these two....

Never heard of the WSP, but the Simpson in Super, or better yet, Manchurian, is the creme de la creme of shaving brushes. I've got Plisson HMW, Rooney Finest, Thater two band, and the Simpson Manchurian Chubby rules.
I too don’t know about the WSP, but Simpson’s last a lifetime… or at least 40 years. That’s how long I have had my first Simpson.
No brainer.
I too love the Chubby.
I always thought Plisson had a copyright on HMW but I guess not. Don't mistake this HMW for the original Plisson, its a totally different hair type.
Just by looks I'd go with the Chubby. Just realize the Chubby style isn't for everybody. it short and can get messy to use and can be a real lather hog. personally I think it's a wonderful brush.
The only Simpsons Chubby I have is the synthetic Chubby 2 and agree with Spender that it is short and can get messy to use. I don't think the synthetic is a lather hog though. You can load a lot of soap but it gives the lather up easily. Probably the difference between naturals and synthetics. I really like the brush being a face lathering person.

Thanks for all the help guys. It looks like I will most likely go with the chubby.
I have tried the WSP HMW brush and for the money, it isn't as good as I had thought. The hair is very nice, but it lacked the backbone I prefer.
The WSP Stubby Superfine Extra-dense 2-Band one is much better for $120. This knot has great backbone with lovely soft tips, but with good scrub and is quite dense.
However, you are looking at 26 X 53mm knots for both of these WSP brushes/knots compared to the Chubby 1 which is 23 X 47mm. I don't think you can compare the knots size and I would highly suggest the latter of the WSP brushes over the Chubby 1 if you want a substantial brush. I just find the Chubby 1 too small.
However, if you prefer that, then good luck with the purchase.
