Hello Gents,
I am looking for recommendations between a boar and a silvertip. I currently have a Semogue 1305, a Parker silvertip, and a Elite Razor silvertip. I use a range of different soaps and creams. I am looking for something with some backbone; not as floppy as my silvertips, but not as firm as the Semogue. Maybe a pure badger??? Any thoughts and/or recommendations
Do you have a Finest Badger? Those are very good all around performing knots and not top of the price line either.
Simpson best are nice. Thater silvertips have plenty of bacbone and are quite soft. As are simpson chubby brushes. Bull goose has a nice beehive Vie-long with plenty of backbone as well

A Heinrich Thater 24-28mm two-band silvertip is a wink from an angel.
A Simpson manchurian would fill the bill very nicely.
I like Obies thought. I have a Thater 4125/2 26mm silvertip, sweet soft tips and plenty of backbone for soaps. I only own 2 creams and prefer soaps.
I have a Best Badger Thater that is awesome. Soft on the face but stiff enough to build good lather. I think I paid $38 for it.
I have been looking at the Thater 4125 series for a while now, but I was unsure as to how the backbone would be with it being a silvertip. I have also looked at a few two band fine badgers, and I need to check out the recommended Simpson. Maybe I just need to ask Santa for three brushes…I have been nice :angel:Thanks for all of the feedback.
