After cleaning and let dry (last Saturday) i picked up this brush to try out.( just bought at antique shop) i notice thisAttachment 201403 i believe the knot must have swelled from the cleaning because it wasnt there when i cleaned it . it was upside down during drying time. Thanks
Sorry, man. Things like this happen. I have broken things which made me sick. Still, no way to fix it. The logo will be lost, no matter. Wait! There is. Grind and chop the broken handle away from the knot. Get a nice vintage junk brush. Relieve it of it's knot, install yours.
Otherwise, get a new one. ... ...Get the new one.
Given time boar upside down will burst and handle. That said:
Find a model RC car or airplane shop near to you. Or sometimes craft stores have it

Buy Satellite City Hot Stuff Instant CA Glue, Thin, 2 Ounces at Woodcraft.com
Ask if they have "Hot Stuff "Thin" Cyanoacrylate Glue"
Flush the crack with denatured alcohol and let it dry.
Read the instructions on the bottle will wick into the crack and you clamp it tightly.
The advantage to a walk in shop is you can take the handle with you on a Saturday or Sunday and the guys will know better what to do!

Oh.. The water in any hair brush can cause the hair to swell. The fattening hairs can overwhelm the slowly shrinking plastic of the brush handle. Unless the plastic is really thick it will happen over time, even without the water freezing...then even Badger may swell and burst the ferrule( End of brush handle.) Badger doesn't swell, they are quills, so I understand.)Quote:

Thanks again. And thanks. To harrywally. He said you'd be the man for me to ask. Yea tried the badger (made rite) this morning , very nice for first badger, nice lather and flowed out the brush very evenly. But not as exfoliating as boar, plus the boar paints my goatee so the hair is laying down so i can trim the inside part of my chin. Had to use fingers with badger.
