A Badger Brush that will stand up to my boars.
Hello Gentleman, after having a good laugh in the badger vs boar threads. You might have pinned me for a Boar fan for which I am. Mainly my rationale has been silvertips although very comfy and effective for my shaving creams never really did for me when it came to hard soaps and face lathering. I had a Simpson Duke which I sold to a friend because it was a little expensive and didnt really make me happy, I have an AOS Pure badger which works well, An Esbjerg Sivertip a gift from my wife also very nice. All these brushes are fine they work but all lacked a bit of backbone for more aggressive lathering techniques which I tend to prefer. I always wanted a Thater but haven't pulled the trigger because well brushes are on the low side of my acquisition disorder priorities And I cant bring myself to spend over a 100 bucks on a soap applicator. Razors yes Hones sure even strops or soaps, hey soap is important lol. Well to make a long winded story short I found a badger I can live with and has what I was looking for.

Vintage Blades 2 Band Finest Badger 24mm
A nice dense knot really good back bone pretty standard acrylic handle no frills . I power loaded a Queen Charlotte Rose Otto soap and face lathered like a brut it didn't drop a single hair and lathered well. I wont divorce my boar brushes but this guy certainly got my attention. Now of course the Thater brush is haunting me again good thing my birthday is coming up in a couple months. In other threads I was complaining that there wasn't a good badger brush for under 50 bucks I was wrong.
