Well awhile ago I wanted to try a different brush so I got a couple handles and a couple synthetic knots. After I put the first together figured I didn't need another one so I had a handle lying around. I have been trying to find another brush that I would compare to my finest knot that I got from TGN, but so far no go. I was going to get another finest knot from TGN till I seen a cheap $10 finest knot and figured I would give that a shot. I regretted getting it the entire time it took to get to me. I figured I should have just spent the extra $15-$20 and got one that I know I would like. Anyway once I got it didn't seem bad so put it in the handle and gave it a try. I was pleasantly surprised. I had to use it for awhile before I could give it my judgement. My favorite brush is a 20mm and this one is 24mm. The height is lower on this one and I set the loft alittle lower to keep it from being floppy. The bristles weren't as stiff as my favorite. The tips on my favorite kind of curled and gave it a very soft cushiony feel that I like. Someone on here called the curled tips "gel tips" which I think fit. The new one hasn't curled, but still soft. It has shed 1 hair first lather and a couple more afterwards, but none since. I am actually finding myself using my favorite less now which is what I have been wanting. Still not as good as my favorite, but closer than my others. I will still get another knot from the TGN since I got a chunk of wood that I want to make into a handle. Not sure if I would want to take the chance on another cheap knot that I don't know what I will get. My favorite is the one on the left.
